Like the Woman at the Well
She came, with a waterpot,
To draw water from the well.
All she ever did, she heard,
With love, the Savior tell.
Her soul was dry and barren,
Parched with sin and shame.
Her thirst could not be quenched,
Until to Christ she came.
An outcast, a worthless one,
No regard of rank or place,
Until the living water
Changed her heart by God’s own grace.
Now His own forevermore
And never to thirst again,
She took in the gift of God –
Living water for all men.
Lord, only You can give life
To a dry and thirsty soul.
You revive the heart of man
And make the withered whole.
Only You can satisfy,
So I, too, will quickly tell;
Living water set me free,
Like the woman at the well.
Saved by grace,
Mary Teresa
