 Lord, I Need Peace

  By Jo Ann Hollway © 2021

  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. ~

  (Romans 5:1).

Dear Friend:
Do you need peace? Are you separated from loved ones, feeling the coldness of loneliness through death, war, divorce, isolation or rejection? Illness, broken families and financial problems are examples of situations that Satan uses to destroy people and their lives everyday. For whatever reason, is your mind flooded with thoughts of dread and your heart frozen with fear? Beloved, do you know the true meaning of peace and rest?

Peace and rest come from the Lord ~ from knowing Him and from living according to His Word, the Bible! It is only through knowing the living Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, that we can know and have peace in whatever circumstances we are facing. To know about God is one thing, but to know God is completely another thing.

The Bible states very plainly in I John 5:13, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

How can you have peace? How can you know God?

Way of Salvation

If Jesus Christ returned today, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven with Him?

Realize That God Loves You.

God loves you and has a plan for your life.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John3:16).

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners.

Our sins have separated us from God.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

God made man in His own image. He gave man the ability to choose right from wrong. We choose to sin. Our sins separate us from God.

God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For.

“For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23).

Wages means payment. The payment of our sin is death and hell, separation from God forever. As a result of our sin, we shall die without Christ and be without God forever.

The Good News Is… Christ Paid for Our Sins.

All our sins were laid on Christ on the cross. He paid our sin debt for us. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross and He arose from the dead. He is alive forevermore.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19)

We Must Personally Pray & Receive Christ by Faith as Saviour.

The Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Hide Thyself in Me

He who walked through Galilee
   And turned water into wine,
Can heal my wounded spirit
   Lord, You bought me ~ I am Thine!
That One who touched the leper,
   And who made the blind man see;
Whispers: My child, I love you,
   Come now, hide thyself in Me!
The One who fed five thousand,
   With two small fish and some bread;
Can keep my feeble footsteps,
   As by His Word I'm led!
Oh, Jesus, gentle Shepherd,
   Is there greater friend than He?
Who whispers: My child forever,
    You can hide thyself in Me!

Resting in Him

Sheltered by His blessed hand,
   Until we meet together,
On the shores of Glory Land!
   I'll depend upon the Father,
Trusting in His gentle care
   'Til the day He calls me home,
And He welcomes me up there!
   Oh, Lamb of God, You bought me
With your precious blood you shed;
   You've claimed my soul forever,
So I won't fear or dread!
   Savior, sweet Rose of Sharon,
Calms my heart with lasting peace;
   Content in the arms of God,
So I'll make my grumbling cease!
    I'm hiding in my Jesus,
Who will take each tear I cry;
   And give me joy for mourning
In that grand sweet by and by!
   I'm resting in the Father,
Safe within His loving hand;
   'Til the day I touch His face,
On the shores of Glory Land!
