Between Two Hearts

A miracle and blessing
That the loving Father sends,
Is the joy between two hearts
Of very special friends.

The common bond of friendship
Just as a budding rose,
Begins to bloom and blossom
And gets sweeter as it grows.

Delicate as dainty lace
And ribbon tied with love;
Two hearts are graced with beauty,
When embroidered from above.

Butterflies on gentle breeze
And lilies kissed with dew
Are gifts of rarest beauty;
Hearts embraced are like this, too.

Who can know its value?
Or who can state its worth?
God’s miracle called “Friendship”
Between two hearts on earth.

What moment does it happen?
And who can know its measure?
No one can scarcely fathom
The merit of this treasure!

So may we be most thankful,
When the loving Father sends,
Blessing that is only known,
Between two hearts called, “Friends”
