Be Still Child
Once doubting that God loved me,
And seeming far away;
His Spirit spoke so gently,
“I am here child, won’t you pray?”
How oft I felt so lonely
I did not know what to do,
His presence whispered sweetly –
“I am here child, I love you.”
So many times afraid,
My heart was cold with fear.
His glory echoed to me –
“Be still child, I am here.”
Should I tend to worry,
Be burdened down with care –
When He who calls me child,
Is ever faithful, always there?
I will put my faith in Him,
Believe through trial and test;
While I am weak and He is strong,
Trust Him to do the rest.
His grace will ever keep me,
Until I bow before His throne,
And my Father, smiling, bids me –
“Well done child, welcome Home!”
